The Gears trilogy takes place in the world of Sara. Sara is a human colonized world and is having a civil war to see who will control the planets resources. During the civil war a group of underground aliens emerged called Locusts. The Locusts wiped out tons of the humans colonized on Sara and the remaining humans banded together to form the COG army. You play as Marcus Fenix. A legendary war hero thrown in jail for insubordination. The COG army needs Marcus's help so they release him from prison. Marcus ends up joining delta squad. Delta squad is the most elite and legendary squad. Which consists of a variety of characters throughout the game and is always changing. There are two games in the trilogy out so far. Both games have been out some time and are not expensive anymore. I would recommend buying both to get the gist of the story and the online gameplay.
